Welcome

So much is happening in the field of neuroscience we thought it would be useful to have a quick way of learning some of the basics. This way you can understand what is happening, make sense of what you come across in the media – and also spot the rubbish!

Watching these brief videos will give you a comprehensive basis for understanding articles that discuss the brain.  They introduce the most important concepts and will provide you with a vocabulary to start talking credibly about the brain. All of the concepts are illustrated with diagrams and pictures to aid your understanding.

We are excited that more people are choosing to learn about the brain.  We see these videos as a resource that you can return to whenever you want to supplement your knowledge of the workings of the brain.

We originally created these videos to provide a common understanding for people who attend our Applied Neuroscience programme & workshops.  We wanted to ensure everyone could have a common language about the brain which they could use. Because they have been so successful we wanted to make them more widely available.

The videos are designed to provide lots of information about how the brain works. If you want to know how to translate this science into practical action, then keep an eye on the ITS Neuroscience Learning Zone for upcoming opportunities.

To greater learning,
