Running a marathon. Does this idea fill you with dread? Excitement? Nerves? For me personally it makes me feel slightly nauseous. I’m not one for running miles and feeling the wind in my hair, I’d much rather go for a relaxing stroll. For this reason alone I am so impressed with my manager, Clare who is going to be running the 2014 London Marathon for two brilliant charities close to her heart.

Everyone deals with bad news – whether it be personal or with friends or family – differently and it’s important that you approach it in a way that works well for you. Taking your mind away and focusing on something else is a brilliant way to distract yourself and running the marathon is certainly one (very brave!) way of approaching this.

Clare began her marathon journey earlier this year and has been given a charity place by Cancer Research UK but will also be raising money for Jo’s Trust – a cervical cancer charity which has been supporting Clare for the past year.

We will be holding a fundraising day on January 18th kicking off a year of ‘living generously’ in 2014. Click here for more details on how to book a place on this special day.

Here is Clare’s charity video which will explain in more detail why Clare is going to be running the grueling 26 miles in April next year.
